There is much to do on Pleasure Island. A fantastic new North Carolina Aquarium is at the south end of the island next to historic Fort Fisher. Daily programs include divers who swim with sharks and rays and a touching pond for the kids. Just south of this condo is the marina with daily departures on fishing charters, sunset cruises, dinner cruises, and boat rentals. A ten minute drive takes you to Downtown Wilmington. The historic riverfront downtown has brick streets, waterfront restaurants, loads of antique shops, horse-drawn carriage rides, and fantastic restaurants. Across the river is the battleship North Carolina with daily tours. Of course, there is plenty to do right in Kure/Carolina Beach with festivals throughout the year, a movie theater as well as fishing piers and the boardwalk.
