Fourth of July Events in Carolina Beach

The party starts early on July 1st at the Independence Day Fireworks by the Sea & Boardwalk Blast. You’ll want to arrive early to secure your spot on the beach near the Carolina Beach Boardwalk to watch the fireworks. Enjoy the ocean and bring a picnic (or takeout) dinner while waiting for the show to start. Live music at the Gazebo Stage usually begins around 6:30 p.m.

Spend the Fourth of July in the nearby port city of Wilmington and watch a fantastic fireworks display! Just a short drive from Carolina Beach, you can enjoy live music and the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra, shop and dine in historic downtown, and then celebrate Independence Day riverside by watching the fireworks display. The show will begin after dark, and the Riverwalk is a great vantage point to see fireworks shot off a barge in the Cape Fear River near the battleship North Carolina. As with all outdoor celebrations, we suggest that you check for last-minute information about parking, traffic, and event updates.

Great Carolina Beach Restaurants For Inside or Outside Dining

No trip to Pleasure Island is complete without dining on fresh seafood! Enjoy a cocktail and choose indoor or outdoor seating at your choice of well-known Carolina Beach restaurants.

Michael’s Seafood is both a local and visitor favorite. Famous for their specials, pasta, and fantastic seafood, there is something for everyone on their menu. You might want to stop twice at this restaurant and try several dishes on their menu.

The Hang Ten Grill overlooks Carolina Beach Lake Park and is open for lunch and dinner, and weekend breakfast. They have a fun menu (think “pub fare with a coastal twist”), with burgers, sandwiches, greens, starters, seafood, and even all-day breakfast items. Whatever your mood, they have you covered.

You can’t beat the Shuckin’ Shack Oyster Bar for simple shellfish dishes. Escape the summer heat with a cold drink and cool appetizers at this popular spot.

Havana’s offers a “Polished Casual” experience, with a distinctive atmosphere including local art and area photographs. The Caribbean and Cajun-inspired dishes bring guests back time and time again. After dinner, you can stroll to the Carolina Beach Boardwalk just a few blocks away.
