Salty Banana is a duplex (two sides) and can be rented as both sides combined. Alternatively, each side can be rented separately as Banana Cabana or Salty Sunrise.

"Salty But Sweet! - We rented both sides of the Salty Banana and it is beautiful duplex with an amazing view! The hot tubs were not even warm, and one barely had any water in it. Both bedrooms downstairs do not seem to warm up at all. And we did not have enough towels for our group of 21 when we arrived.The property itself was perfect for our mission trip, and eventually one of the hot tubs got up to 85 degrees and we received more towels! "

"Perfect Location, Home needs some TLC - We had our extended family of 17 rent both sides of this unit for a week. The set up of the houses was great and the location and view were AMAZING! However, both sides of the house are in need of some TLC and repair. One side smelled like cat urine - so much so that even my 15 year old niece noticed it. There were broken shower doors, broken towel racks, broken fridge handle, broken cabinet doors, and other miscellaneous things that needed repair. There were hardly any towels provided - I wish I would have known that or I would have brought some of our own. Also, the sliding glass doors on the ocean side did not lock. But probably the most concerning aspect was that the one hot tub was SO hot my nephew put his foot in on the first day - about ready to climb in and fortunately realized something wasn't right and immediately took it out. He still ended up blistering on his foot he burned so bad. We contacted the real estate agency immediately and they said they would send someone out. It took another text a few days later for someone to finally come. It never got fixed.My husband investigated and realized the hot tub was at 123 degrees! I'm so thankful we didn't have too young of children with us because someone really could've been seriously injured/burned! "

"Fabulous time in a wonderful location - We had a ball staying at the Salty Banana! We rented both sides for a large group of friends and the location was just perfect. Access to the beach was easy and the house itself was well appointed. The elevators worked great and we also found out that Carolina Beach Recreation Center offers free beach wheelchair rentals to the public which was so wonderful (and a tip for anyone else looking for accessibility perks during your stay!). We did not want our trip to end!"
