Battleship Half Marathon, 10K and 5K
The Parkway Subaru Battleship Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K is set to take place on Sunday, November 17, 2024, in Wilmington, North Carolina. This annual event offers runners of all levels the opportunity to challenge themselves while enjoying the scenic beauty of the area. Participants can choose between the half marathon, 10K, or 5K distances, each providing a unique experience as they wind through the streets and along the waterfront.

Pleasure Island Fall Surf Fishing Challenge
The Pleasure Island Fall Surf Fishing Challenge is an exciting annual event held in Carolina Beach, North Carolina. Anglers of all skill levels gather to compete for over $30,000 in cash and prizes. The tournament takes place in October.
Participants must fish exclusively Carolina Beach—no boats, sound, or pier fishing allowed. Registration and the tournament headquarters are located at the Town of Carolina Beach Public Parking Lot.
Fishing begins at 11:59 pm on Friday, and ends at noon on Sunday. Three leaderboard updates occur throughout the weekend. An awards dinner, raffle, and ceremony cap off the event on Sunday afternoon.
Cash prizes are awarded for the top five catches in each of these categories: Bluefish, Trout, Black Drum, Pompano, and Sea Mullet. Special prizes are given for the top Junior, Lady, and Senior Anglers. An optional “Slot Red Drum TWT” offers additional prize money for red drum catches.

Carolina Beach Inshore Challenge
The Carolina Beach Inshore Challenge returns on September 6-7, 2024 at Inlet Watch Marina, offering anglers an exciting opportunity to compete for over $15,000 in cash and prizes. This one-day fishing tournament focuses on a single division: red drum, where winners are determined by the boat’s heaviest catch. Participants can use live, dead, or artificial bait and fish without boundaries or checkouts.
The event encourages live weigh-ins but doesn’t require them, and there are no limits on the number of anglers per boat. Complimentary festivities include a Captains’ Party on Friday, hosted by Adams Beverages & Anheuser Busch, and an Awards Party on Saturday, hosted by Papa Murphy’s Pizza. Registration and the Captains’ Meeting take place on Friday, September 6, followed by the tournament on Saturday, September 7, from 6:30 am-4:00 pm. The weigh-in runs from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm, and the Awards Ceremony starts at 5:30 pm.
In addition to the main prizes, there are special weight prizes, raffle prizes, and a SeaTow prize for the heaviest red drum caught by a current SeaTow member. The Carolina Beach Inshore Challenge promises a thrilling experience for fishing enthusiasts in a beautiful coastal setting.
